Easy setup and overall simplicity win accolades for the industry’s first all-electronic knifeholder.
Camas, WA – Tidland Corporation, a leader in the design and engineering of slitting and winding products for the web handling industry, was recognized for their e-Knifeholder with the 2009 Technology of the Year award from the Association of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL). The award follows another recent win for the category of Coating/Laminating Equipment/Accessories from the association.
According to AIMCAL, the judges were impressed by increases in productivity and safety achieved by reducing the need for intervention by an operator. “Standardizing settings eliminate a lot of waste and downtime,” observed one judge. “Now the operator only has to worry about blade sharpness,” noted another. “It’s a nice upgrade to an old piece of equipment,” he concluded.
